As well as all the general information common to such annual reports there is particular emphasis on the city’s preparations and celebrations in connection with its being the reception point for the first visit of a ruling Emperor (King George V) to his Indian Empire when he disembarked from HMS Medina at what is now Gateway of India on Apollo Bunder. The pavilion illustrated was the one erected especially for the royal arrival and the forerunner of the present massive structure. The Dais, a shamiana with two thrones was erected in front of the Royal Yacht Club. The second illustration is accompanied by a note on the nature of the decorations and also details the cost to the Presidency.
