Grenadier Guards, portraits of two young officers killed in action during the First World War
A half length portrait of Lieut the Honourable John Manners, Grenadier Guards, 8 x 4 ins mounted on photographers card and signed Dorothy Hickling, Ebury St, SW . The officer is shown wearing service dress facing left. A newspaper cutting relating to his death from wounds on 28th July 1915 is pasted to the lower lewft corner of the old album leaf. The other side of this 14½ x 9½ ins album leaf has a bust length portrait photograph by the same photographer, double mounted and showing the officer in service dress.
