Armorial bookplate of Curzon interest


A small armorial booKpLate, roughly 2.5 ins square, showing Curzon arms in the dexter half [three popppinjays]. The baron’s coronet is not that of the Viceroy but Scarsdale. The Hon George Nathaniel Curzon was the eldest son of the 4th baron Scarsdale of Kedleston Hall but received his own title [Baron, later Earl and Marquess Curzon]. The family name of the Barons Scarsdale is Curzon. There is minor damage along the top edge and the plate is tipped to an old sheet of paper along the top edge. SOLD 16th January 209
