14th Bengal Lancers, Murray’s Jat Lancers. A vintage photograph, 11 x 8.5ins [28 x 21cm] showing the lancers, including both British and Indian officers, horsed, wearing service dress This image dates from the 1890s when the regiment was based at Saugor.  Its provenance is from a family descendant of Lt Col Peter Bairnsfather who was commandant of the regiment at the end of the nineteenth century and is the heavily moustached officer in the centre next to the black dog. Small area of damage top left not affecting anything other than sky. The photograph is mounted on old stout white card. 3  SOLD 24th March 2020
