14th Bengal Lancers, Murray’s Jat Lancers. A vintage photograph, 10.5 x 8.5ins [26 x 21cm] showing the lancers horsed, wearing service dress, the British officers mainly with swords drawn and shouldered. This image dates from the 1890s when the regiment was based at Saugor.  Its provenance is from a family descendant of Lt Col Peter Bairnsfather who was commandant of the regiment at the end of the nineteenth century and is the heaily moustached officer in the centre. Small area of loss top left. The photograph is mounted on old stout white card.  2 SOLD 24th March 2020
